lion tattoos

lion tattoos

The lion is one of the most popular animals for people to get tattooed on their bodies, and they have been for centuries. The ordinary symbolism of the lion is royalty and self confidence. It once was, and still is in some cultures, viewed as a creature of aristocracy and law. In the past, the people of Asia got tattooed with lion images as a way to show that they are full of energy and very powerful. Today, lion tattoos signify the same things, plus courage, savage protectiveness, glory, victory, strength, vitality, spirit and overall masculinity. Although there are some women who choose this tattoo design, the lion is predominantly a male figure. However, some women do like getting tattoos of lion cartoon characters. When the Lion King came out, there was a burst in popularity of the lions depicted in the movie being tattooed on women.

Lion tattoos have a powerful mythological and spiritual meaning, the lion as a tattoo design is very popular and has many symbols often unique to the individual. Lion tattoos symbolize divine and solar power, royal authority, victory, fortitude, pride, nobility, cunning, strength, courage, justice and protection. Christian images of the Lion have long been used to symbolize St. Mark.

Another lion tattoo design. Compared to the previous lion tattoo, this one is relatively more humane. You can almost sense some sadness from this body art.

The tattoo on Angelina Jolie's left arm shows the map coordinates for the birthplaces of her children. The coordinates tattoo covers the place where the dragon tattoo and name of her ex husband Billy Bob used to be before they got lasered off. You can still see the dragon a bit

kaepernick tattoos

kaepernick tattoos

San Francisco QB Colin Kaepernick tattoos are under heavy criticism as AOL Fanhouse columnist David Whitley defends his remarks about the new starting quarterbacks tattoos.

According to Fox News, San Francisco Forty-Niner quarterback Colin Kaepernick tattoos came under harsh criticism when columnist David Whitley made outlandish remarks about the football star’s tats. Whitley wrote a very controversial piece on Thursday that revolved around Colin Kaepernick tattoos and how it is ill fitting that a starring quarterback be marked up so heavily.

Colin Kaepernick‘s arms are full of tattoos. This apparently ensures that the San Francisco quarterback can never be a legitimate hero for the NFL — or even the 49ers.

That’s what it may sound like AOL Fanhouse's David Whitley thinks, at least. The columnist penned a controversial piece on Thursday centered entirely on Kaepernick’s ink.

There has been quite a bit of controversy lately surrounding San Francisco 49ers new quarterback Colin Kaepernick. But those issues are what you would expect when a team decides to start a different quarterback on a team that was already winning. What is not expected is that somehow Kaepernick’s tattoos have become the center of attention today.

demi lovato tattoo

Demi Lovato’s newest tattoo is also her largest. She added a flock of flying birds on her right forearm surrounding her “faith” tattoo in November 2012. There are twelve black birds with a little swirl behind them. The tattoo was done by celebrity tattoo artist Kat Von D.

Demi’s first tattoo was revealed in June 2010, 2 months before the Disney star’s 18th birthday. However Demi stated in an interview that she got the tattoo when she was 16 — how did no one notice it?!  The tattoo is of the words “you make me beautiful” written on the right side of her ribs. The phrase comes from the song “Beautiful” by Bethany Dillon, a song which Demi claims changed her life.

Demi Lovato is no stranger to tattoos, but her new ink leaves us feeling a little … flighty. The 20-year-old "X Factor" judge showed off her new tattoo, a flock of birds "flying" up her left arm and the word "faith" written in cursive, on her Twitter page Monday.

Earlier this week Demi Lovato joined “On Air with Ryan Seacrest” to discuss the difficulties she has endured this past year beginning with spending the holidays in treatment for a eating disorder, and how she is facing her struggles with the support of her close family and her fans.

Chris Nuñez, one of the tattoo artists featured in TLC's Miami Ink, graced the 14th annual South Padre Island BikeFest on Saturday, October 13.  The event, which is the Island's largest motorcycle festival, kicked off last Thursday, October 11, at the SPI Convention Center and Schlitterbahn Beach Waterpark.

Be careful what you wish for, judge Chris Nunez told the News.

“Jessie, he's an incredibly technically savvy tattooer,” says Nunez. “He's just toying with people at this point, and if his conviction is that strong, if he's willing to potentially walk away from 100,000 dollars, I respect that.

Recently, we spoke with Chris Nunez from Miami Ink and judge on Spike TV’s new reality show Ink Master about some of our favorite tattoo clichés.  Chris, being a lifelong tattoo enthusiast and artist himself, has an appreciation for all tattoos and assured us from the get go that no matter what we had on our list, it’d be something that pays his bills that he’s happy to do or any and all customers.  He’s a good guy and didn’t even insult the matching Hello Kitty tattoos all of our editors have.
